Proto Systems will build bespoke ‘whole system’ hydrogen installations. For example a recent project involved the installation of a 5kW PEM fuel cell on-board a canal boat at the University of Birmingham. The fuel cell was integrated with the solid state storage device already in place on-board the boat. Proto Systems Ltd will not only provide the fuel cell but will install this into the existing infrastructure at the buyers request.
The software developed by Proto Systems Ltd can control and monitor every aspect of the installation including –
Pressure and flow control for filling system.
Hydride store response (temperature, pressure, flow rates).
Gas control system from store to fuel cell (flow rates, pressure, solenoid valve response, purge control).
Fuel cell response – energy output, temperature, pressure.
Controlled battery charging, linked to fuel cell control system.
Possibility to monitor the end users application via the Proto Systems software.
The Software will control and monitor safety systems including hydrogen sensors and pneumatic shut off valves.
