Consultancy

The company directors have over 10 years experience in the field of hydrogen technology. We will provide consultancy advice in the following areas –

Safety – The directors of the company have many years experience in setting up hydrogen laboratories and demonstration projects with in-built safety systems. We will calculate the possible risks in your work areas including possible explosive limits, advise on pressure equipment directives (PED), cylinder safety, good working practices, hydrogen detection systems and shut off valves, siting of hydrogen facilities etc…... We will also advise you on companies who can provide safety systems for your installation.

Storage materials – Proto Systems is developing a wide range of solid state hydrogen storage devices from small scale to industrial sized applications. As this is a relatively new market we will also offer a consultancy service for people wanting to know more about this form of hydrogen storage and about the possible applications.

Hydrogen Measurement Equipment – Dr Allan Walton has 10 years experience in measuring and characterising hydrogen storage materials and hydrogen purification membranes. If you are interested in building test equipment of your own or simply require advice on the type of equipment available on the market we can advise on such systems.

Fuel cell installations – Dr Alex Bevan has several years of experience installing fuel cell stacks from small scale devices to a 5 kW fuel cell on-board a canal boat at the University of Birmingham.

Proto Systems will provide a consultancy service for most kinds of hydrogen installation. This includes the fuel cell, storage method, re-fuelling station, safety systems, control and monitoring equipment, pipework, valves and advise on companies who can provide these services.
