Proto Systems has two company directors – Dr Alex Bevan and Dr Allan Walton

 

Dr Allan Walton

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Materials Science 1994-1997
  • PhD in Hydrogen Storage Materials and Hard Magnetic Materials 1997-2001
  • Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham 2001-2008

 

Dr Walton has worked as a research fellow at the University of Birmingham for the last 7 years on a number of high profile British and European research projects including ‘FUCHSIA’ (Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Stores for Integration into Automobiles, EU Framework 5 Programme) and ‘NESSHY’ (Novel Efficient Solid Storage for Hydrogen, EU Framework 6 Programme). He built the hydrogen laboratory at the University of Birmingham, creating a world leading facility for the production and measurement of hydrogen storage and hydrogen purification materials.

 

Dr Walton is an expert in the manufacture and characterisation of hydrogen storage materials. He has designed and built a wide range of bespoke equipment in order to process these materials and measure their thermodynamic and kinetic behaviour.
